Anish Deb

Dr Anish Deb (b. 1951) is presently a Professor in the Department of Applied Physics, University of Calcutta.  He is the recipient of two University gold medals and one University Silver medal for excellence in his studies. Apart from being an academic of class, he is a noted Bengali author of crime, mystery, detection, science fiction and ghost stories. He has been working in this literary area for about five decades and has published fifty odd books, containing mostly his novels and short stories. He has edited many anthologies in Bengali, including three science fiction anthologies and four anthologies of crime novels and stories. He has also edited a few collections in English, the latest three being Anthology of 20 Stories: Ghost, Anthology of 20 Stories: Crime, and Anthology of 20 Stories: Horror published by BEE Books.
