What is NaNoWriMo?

NaNoWriMo is the short form of National Novel Writing Month. Every year in November, thousands of writers come together to hammer out 50,000 words in 30 days. It doesn’t matter if you’re in India or Australia or the United States. Anyone can join in this little time of writing dangerously.

In order to meet the word count goal of 50,000 words, writers will have to log in 1,667 words every single day. The basic idea behind this exercise is that it’s easier to edit a messy story than a blank page! Which personally, we feel is a very good idea. You will never have time to write that novel until you actively make time to write.

It feels like such an achievement when you update your daily word count, and watch how far you’ve come from the blank page. This article is just an insight into what NaNoWriMo is basically about.

Check back to the BEE Blog later this week for a more detailed overview on NaNoWriMo! 🙂
